Sharing Videos with Athens State Students and Employees

After you have created a video in Relay, there will be times where you want to share a video with a colleague.  This process is only recommended for those instances where a select individual will need to watch a video one or two times (ex: Students Submitting Presentations to an Instructor, Showing a Computer Error, Demonstrating a Specific Task for a Colleague, etc.).  For instances where entire classes will need to view a lecture or video, you should add it directly into Blackboard by following the Adding a Relay Video to a Blackboard Course instructions.

NOTE*When sharing videos, the user will have to login to Relay to view the video.  This means that only individuals with an athens.edu or my.athens.edu email address will be able view the video.

To share a video you have created, complete the following instructions:

Step 1: Login to Relay by going to https://athens.techsmithrelay.com and entering your login credentials.

Step 2: When in Relay, find the video that you want to share.  Once you have located the video, click on the thumbnail of the video to enter the View / Edit Video area for that individual video.  (see image below)

Step 3: Once in the View / Edit Video area, scroll to the bottom of the screen.  Click the “Share” button above the title of the video.  (see image below)

Step 5: In the window that appears, click “Copy”.  This will allow you to go into your email or other application and paste the link to the video.  (see image below).

Once you have emailed the link to your colleague, they should be able to click it to view the video.  Please remember that your colleague will have to login to the Relay system in order to view the video.  Hence, they must have an athens.edu or my.athens.edu email account and completed the registration process.
