Faculty-

Redshelf LTI must be installed in Blackboard for the following publishers

  • Cengage
  • Pearson
  • Jones and Bartlett
  • McGraw-Hill (if the selected textbook does NOT come with Connect; check with the publisher/bookstore)

To install Redshelf in the course –

  • Redshelf must be install in a content area (Suggest inserting the link in the Course Orientation section)
  • Select Tools (at the top)
  • Scroll to the bottom and click on “Redshelf LTI tool”
  • Redshelf may be renamed (A.K.A. “Access Athens”)

Redshelf must be visible to students, if you are using:

  • Cengage without courseware (Mindtap, Aplia, SAM, etc.); check with the publisher
  • Pearson
  • Jones and Bartlett
  • McGraw-Hill (if the selected textbook does NOT come with Connect; check with the publisher)

Faculty will need two links for students to get their textbook – one for Redshelf and another to publisher

Redshelf can be hidden from student if you are using

  • Cengage with courseware (Mindtap, Aplia, SAM, etc.); check with the publisher. It does not matter if the instructor is using the courseware or not.  If the selected textbook comes with courseware, these directions are applicable.
  • The instructor must create a course in Mindtap, Aplia, SAM, etc., and assign the textbook/chapters (if applicable), and/or an assignment.
  • After completing the above step, go to the designated Blackboard course and in a content area select
    • “Partner Content”
    • “Cengage Learning”
    • Find your course and select it.
  • Student must click on an assignment or an assigned chapter to get to the textbook.
