Simple Syllabus supports all major web browsers. If you experience issues accessing Simple Syllabus through your LMS, please review the browser support details and troubleshooting steps below.
Supported Browsers
- Google Chrome
- Mozilla Firefox
- Safari
- Microsoft Edge
For the best experience, we recommend using the latest version of these browsers.
Enabling Third-Party Cookies
Simple Syllabus has implemented a cookieless authentication standard. However, if you're still encountering an error, it may be worth reviewing your browser's cookie settings. While our new method doesn't rely on cookies, certain browser configurations can still interfere with the login process.
Users who have third-party cookies disabled might see an error message such as:
- “Refused to connect”
- “Sit Tight”
Enabling third-party cookies often resolves these issues.
Google Chrome
- Click the three dots (⋮) in the top-right corner and select Settings.
- Go to Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data.
- Make sure Block third-party cookies is unchecked.
Mozilla Firefox
- Navigate to your school’s LMS site.
- Click the shield icon to the left of the address bar.
- Toggle the switch to disable Enhanced Tracking Protection for the site.
- The page will reload and allow cookies/trackers for that site only.
Safari
- In the top menu, go to Safari → Preferences.
- Select the Privacy tab.
- Uncheck Prevent cross-site tracking.
Microsoft Edge
- Click the three dots (⋮) in the top-right corner and select Settings.
- Go to Privacy, search, and services.
- Under Cookies and site permissions, set cookies to Don’t block cookies.

Additional Tips
- Try Incognito Mode (Chrome): If Simple Syllabus works in Incognito, an extension (such as pop-up blockers) may be interfering. Disable extensions one by one to identify the issue.
- Check Google Accounts: If you are logged into multiple Google accounts (school and personal), this may cause conflicts. Make sure only your school account is active when accessing Simple Syllabus.
- Clear Cache and Cookies (Check our browser knowledge base articles for more info).
