Classroom Operations
Athens State University classrooms are primarily setup with a:
- Computer
- Document Camera
- Cabling to connect a laptop
- DVD/VHS Player (where available)
Some classrooms have a projector with audio, or a PA system and screen.
Screen:
To Lower the screen look for one of the following switch's
Projector:
To turn the projector on in the classroom there will be a control pad screen or a remote.
To turn on the projector, point the remote at the projector and press the power button on the remote
If the room is equipped with a control pad to turn on the projector, press the "DISPLAY ON" button on the control on the control pad
The projector will then come on. The projector lamp must warm up slowly before the projector is at full brightness.
To switch to the display to the Document Camera (Elmo) to the projector:
For the rooms with the remote: point the remote at the projector and press the "Input A" button on the remote.
If the remote does not have a button to switch directly to the "A input." Use the "INPUT" button on the remote to switch thru the inputs to Input "A".
If the room is equipped with a control pad, to switch to the computer display, press the "DOC CAM" button on the control pad.
To switch to the display to the Document Camera (Elmo) to the projector:
For the rooms with the remote: point the remote at the projector and press the "Input B" button on the remote.
If the remote does not have a button to switch directly to the "B input." Use the "INPUT" button on the remote to switch thru the inputs to Input "B".
If the room is equipped with a control pad, to switch to the computer display, press the "DOC CAM" button on the control pad.
To switch to the display from a laptop to the projector:
If the room is NOT equipped with a control pad. The laptop can be connected to the VGA cable that is connected to the Document Camera (Elmo). the projector must be switch to Input B. To show the Document Camera (Elmo), the Document Camera must be switch to "RGB1" or the "Computer Icon"
If the room is equipped with a control pad:
Laptops have two connections, VGA and HDMI cable, connected to the Switch. On the control pad to switch to the laptop press the "LAPTOP" button on the control pad. Then select HDMI or VGA on the Touch Pad.
To control the volume to the projector:
For the rooms with the remote, point the remote at the projector, and press the "Volume + or -" button on the remote.
If the room is equipped with a control pad, use the volume nob to change the volume.
You can also use the volume nob on the switch by turning it.
To turn the projector off in the classroom there will be a control pad screen or a remote:
To turn off the projector with the following projector remotes, point the remote at the projector and press the power button on the remote two times.
To turn off the projector with the following projector remote, point the remote at the projector, and press the "Standby" button on the remote.
If the room is equipped with a control pad, to turn off the projector by pressing the "DISPLAY Off" button on the control pad and then select Power Down on the Touch Pad..
