How to open and use the Accessibility Checker in Microsoft Office to improve the accessibility of your course files
(See also: Blackboard Ally Overview)
Microsoft Office Accessibility Tracker and Blackboard Ally (see link above) are two tools that can easily be used to drastically increase the accessibility level of your course materials.
Although the video above focuses on Microsoft Word, the same process works for Microsoft PowerPoint as well. Word's Accessibility Checker does not guarantee that the document is 100% ADA accessible or usable for a screen reader; however, it is a great tool to drastically improve the accessibility of your course files. For additional information or support regarding Microsoft Accessibility Checker, please contact the Help Desk. We will be glad to assist.
