Take this opportunity to explore and unlock the full potential of Microsoft Office 365. We’re confident these tools (M365) will empower you in new and exciting ways.
Downloading Microsoft 365 Applications
To download Microsoft 365 application to your computer, login to the Microsoft 365 apps page using your Athens State University email address and email password.
Once logged in, click the Install Apps button.
Select Microsoft 365 apps to begin the download.
To complete the installation and activation steps, follow the prompts for your device’s operating system- Windows or MacOS.
Installing on a Windows device
If the setup does not start automatically, you may need to locate and run the OfficeSetup.exe file – likely in your default download folder.
If you see the User Account Control prompt that says, Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device? select Yes.
The installation may take some time depending on your internet connection speed and strength.
You’ll know the installation has begun when you see this screen.
The installation is finished when the “You’re all set! Office is installed now” animation is displayed.
Finish activating your Office license by opening a Microsoft application such as Word, Excel or PowerPoint.
You will see the welcome screen with your Athens State University email.
Click Continue.
Confirm that your Athens State University email address is correct on the login screen.
Click Next.
You may be prompted to enter your email password and verify your activity.
Follow the prompts to view and accept the licensing agreement.
You are now ready to begin using Microsoft 365 applications. Locate more Microsoft 365 applications by opening the Start menu or by clicking the Start button.
Installing on a Mac device
Once the download has completed, open Finder, go to Downloads, and double-click Microsoft Office Installer (.pkg) file.
On the Install Microsoft Office for Mac wizard, click Continue to begin the install process.
Follow the wizard to review the software license agreement and agree to the terms of the software license agreement.
You may be prompted to enter your Mac login password to install the software.
Click Close when the installation is finished.
Finish activating your Office license by opening Launchpad, and choosing Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel or PowerPoint.
On the Sign in to Activate Office screen, select Sign in.
Confirm or enter your Athens State University email address.
You may be prompted to enter your email password and verify your activity.
Once you complete this step, your Microsoft 365 license will be activated.
You are now ready to begin using Microsoft 365 applications. Locate more Microsoft 365 applications by opening Launchpad.
OneDrive
Microsoft’s OneDrive application lets you seamlessly organize, share, and access your files anytime, anywhere.
Microsoft’s OneDrive application also allows you to back up your computer’s folders and folders to keep these protected and available across all your devices.
Back up your folders including Desktop, Documents, and Downloads which you use but might not be included in your OneDrive yet.
