Download HandBrake at https://handbrake.fr/downloads.php
Once you've installed Handbrake on your computer, you can open the application.
NOTE: You may receive an error trying to open Handbrake that says you must install missing frameworks for .NET. If you do, click Yes.
This will open your web browser to Download .NET 6.0 Runtime (microsoft.com) where you can install the .NET for Desktop apps. Click Download x64 and follow the prompts to install it.
Once you get the Installation was Successful screen, you can click Close and re-open Handbrake.
You will click File on the left side of the screen to open a single video file:
Browse your PC files and locate your video:
Once you've selected your video, you will need to rename the new video so it will not overwrite the original.
Rename your video by clicking in the Save As-Browse box and changing the title of your video.
Enter a descriptive name such as MG480_Presentation.
For the Preset dropdown menu, select General-Fast 720p30:
Click the Summary tab, and choose Format as MP4.
Verify Web Optimized, Align A/V Start, and Passthru Common Metadata is checked:
Click Start Encode:
After the process is complete, your video should be available as an MP4 video file in the selected destination folder. Check to make sure your video is now an acceptable size and length. If it is still larger than desired, repeat the steps.
